Inspiration Garden

Welcome to the Inspiration Garden

Inspiration GardenA seven-acre demonstration garden developed and maintained by the OSU Polk County Master Gardeners and operated in cooperation with the City of Independence, Inspiration Garden is among the city’s most successful urban renewal projects, and it’s most inspirational!

This site was donated to the City of Independence when Mt. Fir Lumber Company closed and it became Mt. Fir Park.  In 2012, OSU Polk County Master Gardeners approached the city with a proposal to reclaim the derelict piece of land and develop a Demonstration Garden. The City agreed, generous donations from businesses and individuals came in, and the work began!

Thank you for visiting, and enjoy all that this special garden has to offer!
